I'm so sorry to here of Pete's illness and passing. Please except my condolences and prayers.
I first met Pete at Bradford where he was a star swimmer. Pete was the standard setter in most events. He could really move in the water. None of it went to his head. He was the nicest guy to the younger kids.
In the first few weeks of my freshman year at St. Peter's, Pete made sure I found my way to Grand and Warren. Later in the year, he made sure that we, the freshman, didn't get lost in Hudson County after swimming meets. During his time there, Pete led the team to multiple City and County championships. He was fun to travel with and be around.
He was a long time family friend and he'll be missed by my sister Sherry, brother Art, and myself.

Casey,
I am so sorry for your great loss. It is always difficult to lose someone but devastating to lose a parent. I really have no words of comfort that you have not heard already but if I can be of any help to you please help. I lost both parents when I and they were young so I know how it impacts one's life.
I hope you will be able to join the Irish class this semester and I hope you will feel comfortable enough to tell me about your father.
Padraigin.

Pete -- you were a class act all the way, with a wonderful family and so many friends to attest to your goodness. I'm so proud I got to meet you and be your friend, not to mention a fellow Prep graduate. God bless and rest in peace. Til we meet again... Joe Hartnett

Daphne, Patrick, Mary, Casey, Betsy, Susie, Ellen & Jon,
There are no words to convey my feelings and love for you all at this most difficult time. As you gather to celebrate Peter's life, I'm sure all will have at least one story of this multi-faceted man. He touched many and will live on through them all. I picture him being welcomed into heaven by a loving God and the welcoming arms of those who have gone before including Lucky. How well I remember the family dinners when we were young and seated at the children's table with Lucky close by, the trips to the park and playing on the swings in your back yard. Also the wild car ride on Connecticut country roads with my father, your Uncle Teddy, at the wheel. Farewell My Favorite Cuz, Love, Terry

We all paled in comparison. We learned this early on. At least I did. Generosity, smarts, sense of humor, sincerity, compassion for the less fortunate. All this yet not an iota of ego. Ever. A trait that made him even more magnanimous and all the more lovable.
Gone from our sight, but not forever from our hearts and minds.
My sympathies and deepest condolences to Daphne, Casey, Pat, Sue, Betsy, Ellen, and Mary.
Requiescat In Pace.

The world is a lesser place without Peter in it. My thoughts are with you--the family he loved so much and of which he was so proud.

Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss, the world's loss. Peter and I grew up together during the first couple decades of our lives in Montclair, on swim teams and Saint Peter's Prep. I was not aware of the indelible mark he left on me until now. My memory of Peter is that he was a nice person - a sincere, hard working, competitive but humble person who just loved life. To me, he was always at a "higher, different" level than me, than most. I was a not a close friend to Peter - a year younger when you are a kid is quite a gap - but he was a good friend to me. I will miss him. God Bless.
