Dear Kiernan Family, Please know that you have my heartfelt sympathy on the death of your mother. Marion and I worked together at Newark Beth Israel for several years. During that time I was fortunate to come to know Marion's wonderful sense of humor, sensational wit, and truly caring nature. She was an outstanding professional nurse, a beautiful, elegant lady, and my friend. I will never forget the amusing anecdotes she shared about her life, her wise advice, and her ability to open her heart and listen to a friend in need. Upon hearing of Marion's passing, a flood of memories came to mind, especially a nursing conference at Yale that she, another nurse, and I attended, and the summer afternoon that she carried a hot fudge sundae, in a cooler, from Holsten's as a surprise for me at work. What a treat that was! That delicious ice cream sundae was but one, of many, thoughtful gestures that Marion did to bring joy to the people she knew.
