My sympathies and prayers are with her surviving family - especially Betsy's parents, children, and my former classmate: Sally. Obviously this is a shock, and a terrible blow. I'm reminded of the Biblical saying: In the midst of life, we are in death. May the family find some Peace in this trying time. Condolences, Tim Breen

I am so sorry to learn that Betsy has died. I hadn't seen her since Kimberley but remember Betsy as the loveliest of creatures with red, rosy cheeks and the sweetest way about her which belied her keen intelligence. She didn't seem to have aged in her photograph. This is indeed a terrible loss too soon. I am thinking of all of you. Sally Kimball Petito

I worked with Betsy on a few projects when she was at Scholastic. Even though our association was brief, I was impressed with her bright spirit, her no-nonsense intelligence and her roll-with-the punches good humor. It's hard to comprehend that the Betsy-shaped space on this Earth is now empty. My deepest sympathies go to her family and friends--especially to her kids, who she always talked about with joy and pride. --X

My condolences to Betsy's family. Betsy and I worked together at Pearson for about 5 years, and I'd always hoped we'd be assigned to the same project. That didn't happen, but we did work on committees together and had some mighty fine chats. I'll miss her smile and her smirk.

Betsy was one of the best and dearest friends a person could ever have. The word fine comes to mind when I think of her. We shared many things, both difficult and fun. Our friendship spanned 21 years. Although we did not see each other for periods of time, getting together was always like being with a sister. We caught up and talked about everything. She adored her kids, Dan,Jake, Lauren Sally and her parents. I will miss her with all my heart. Anything I can do at all just call...anytime. Love Bonnie Reed
