He had one brother Michael and one sister Dolly (Marget).  His father was a policeman, and his mother was a homemaker. At the age of 14, after completing elementary school, he started working as a telegram carrier for the Guyana General Post Office. On June 19, 1965, at Saint Mark’s Church in Demerara he married Sandra Barkie. In 1977, Sandra immigrated to the United States and Lennox followed in 1981. When he left the Post Office he had achieved the rank of Post Master General.

After retirement, he spent most of days enjoying time with his wife Sandra until she passed away in August of 2018. They were married for over 53 years. Lennox would spend the rest of days enjoying his grandchildren, watching sports, and going to church every week.
