Obituary of Charles Volpe

Charles was born in Orange, NJ, and spent his early youth in Midland, Texas. He was graduated from West Orange High School and attended Rutgers University. He was a Montclair, NJ, resident for over 45 years before recently moving to Little Falls, NJ. He worked for many years as a sales and marketing executive and consultant in the Fashion industry. Charles was active in the Montclair community, including supporting his children through youth sports programs. He enjoyed spending time at the Van Vleck House & Gardens and Montclair Art Museum, and was an avid political debater. Most of all, Charles enjoyed spending time with his family at home and on Cape Cod, especially with his grandchildren whom he adored.

He was predeceased by his parents Charles A. Volpe and Carmela Spina Volpe and a younger brother Robert L. Volpe. He is survived by his loving wife Joan O'Connell Volpe, children Barrett Volpe Windrem (husband Alex) and Charles J. Volpe (wife Stephanie), and six grandchildren Chloe Connor, Gavin Windrem, Evelyn Windrem, Caitlyn Windrem, Blake Volpe, and Vale Volpe. 

Visitation will be at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street Montclair, NJ on Monday June 10th from 4-8PM.  A mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday June 11th at 10:30AM at Saint Cassian Church, 187 Bellevue Avenue, Montclair.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to House of Mercy Mission, 573 Springfield Ave., Newark, NJ. 07103.
