Obituary of Hsuanling Gregory Li

Hsuanling Gregory Li, aged 88, of Riverside, California, passed away on January 17th, 2024 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.
Funeral service will be handled by Moriaty Funeral Home in Montclair, New Jersey, with Fr. Steve of St. Cassian R.C Church offering prayers and blessings. Burial will follow later at Rose Hills Mortuary in Los Angeles, California.
Hsuanling was born in Nanjing City in China to Ganxin Li and Ailan Zhu on July 15th, 1936. He went to Taipei Municipal Fuxing Senior High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Republic of China Military Academy (Huangpu Military Academy) in Taiwan. He received his officer commission as a Lieutenant in the ROC Army and served for 14 years, retired as Major from the ROC Marine Corp. After his honourable discharge from the military, Hsuanling established a career in the textiles industry for 25 years, managing production of three factories and oversaw hundreds of staff during a transformative time of the industry in the Taiwanese economy.
Hsuanling was a devout Catholic, a dutiful son, devoted husband, and loving father. He was humble, soft spoken, hard-working, generous, optimistic, and the most kind. He travelled around the world and was compassionate about people and passionate about life. He enjoyed cooking, woodcraft, gardening, delicious food, and casino.
Hsuanling is survived by his wife, Feng Wen of Riverside, his sons, John and Abel, daughter-in-law, Anna, and grandsons, Leo and Abel Jr.
