When I was going to school at TCI/Academy360, which I have attended from 2000 until 2017, one thing I remember over a decade ago was one of the best words that I heard from Ralph Macajoux. During Music class, when he was playing the guitar, he said to us, "Did you guys know that I gave up a rock career to come work at TCI?" That was the most heartwarming statement that I'll never forget. Ralph was one of the best people that I have known in my life and a good friend. Thanks for everything, Mr. Mac.

I only just learned about "Mr. Mac's" passing today. He was always a bright light and energy at Spectrum360. Our son, Cameron, passed away on July 15th, 2023. I know he loved Mr. Mac as he loved all of S360 staff. Cameron was a student at TCI/S360 before Mr. Mac joined and I remember when Mr. Mac first joined. Again, a wonderful person who made a great impact on so many people's lives, including Cam's. I know the pain and emptiness of loosing my son so recently and too soon. I know he's having a great time in heaven with Mr. Mac telling jokes, laughing and making people smile with their brightness. Peace and love to you and your family.

Ralph & I met as 8th graders in 1987 at Seton Hall Prep, a pair of kids lost, trying to find our classroom for the placement exam. Who knew a 36 year friendship would be born that day? I will miss Ralph introducing me to his friends and coworkers as "his nemesis, his Lex Luthor."
Rest Now, my friend. I miss you.

Ralph possessed all of the traits of an exceptional person and co-worker. You could always count on him to be wherever he was needed and to approach each situation with a rare combination of skill, compassion, love, and humor. His presence had a calming effect on students and staff alike and his example has left a great impact on the entire Spectrum360 community.

I've known Ralph since the early days of Indian Guides and camping trips up to Frost Valley in NY. Then were the days of Seton Hall Prep and band but really got to know him after college through other mutual friends. The great times of NYC including Radio City Christmas Spectacular with your family is very memorable. Ralph's ability to bring people together in great times along with just being a great listener and strumming on the guitar was priceless. His exceptional work with The Children's Institute and Spectrum360 truly impacted lives and will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace and until we meet again someday. Love you and miss you buddy!

I remember Ralph so fondly during my days working at TCI (now known as Spectrum 360). He beamed when he shared stories about his students and it was obvious how much they meant to him. -Keri Olsen

I've had the pleasure of working with Ralph for the past seven years at Spectrum 360. The best way I can describe him is as a friend. Ralph was a friend to whoever needed one. He was always around to offer a helping hand or an encouraging word or supportive advice. I've always known him to be warm and inviting and always professional. At times, I thought he was too good to be true. So, I always saw him as a role model. Ralph was a big super hero fan, so he would like this analogy. Every comic book company has a flagship character. DC comics has Superman. Marvel comics has Spider-Man. Ralph was the flagship character of Spectrum 360. He was the best of us. He will be missed always.

I worked with Ralph for neary 25 years. Respites, After School Programs, Boyscout trips, playing ultimate frisbee (or whatever game we made up when it rained), happy "hour" that would last til the early morning listening to music and playing pool, or just hanging and talking. So many great memories. He would always greet you with a smile and always cared about doing the best he could for every student. His spirit will always be present in the school, the students he helped, and with all the people that were lucky enough to know him.
Miss ya my friend,

I had the pleasure of meeting Ralph in 2013 when I started working at TCI. He became an instant friend and mentor. I have too many memories to list but what stands out the most about Ralph is that he was a great listener, sympathetic, fair, loving, loyal, dedicated, and positive. I watched in awe as he would turn a student's day around just with a few words and a "sign of solidarity", as he would tell them. Ralph had a way of always making me feel safe, both physically and emotionally, at work and in my personal life. I can only hope Ralph felt the immense gratitude and appreciation I had for him. From sharing an office to dinners at the Olive Garden, Christmas shopping at the mall, relaxing and goofing off after work (sometimes having to wait for him to finish his "ralph errands"), or just a quick text to say "hey", I will never forget even the smallest moments between us. Ralph, you were an angel here on earth and no doubt you will live on as an angel in heaven. You have made an impact on my life that I will never forget and for which I will forever be grateful. XOXO

Reflecting on the life of Ralph, who was an embodiment of kindness, friendliness and courage; his contagious laughter filled the halls of The Children's Institute/Spectrum360. In his commitment, even running in full sweat for a call, he radiated gentleness and passion. His generous spirit simplified the complexities of training sessions with laughter while ensuring our safety. Forever cherished will be his love and thoughtfulness which left indelible marks in our hearts. We bid farewell to this extraordinary soul with mournful hearts but smiling faces - a tribute Ralph would appreciate. Rest in Peace, dear Ralph.
