Obituary of Helen Singh

September 4, 1950 - May 6, 2023 Helen Singh, 72, of Montclair, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Helen was born and raised in Kasese, Uganda in East Africa before moving to Montclair, NJ in 1973, thanks to a generous sponsorship from William and Elizabeth Knowles. While working and raising her sons, Helen also studied finance at Montclair State University. Helen was an exceptionally caring person. She devoted much of her life to caring for her friends and family. In addition to being a dedicated mother and grandmother, Helen also became a “second mom” to many of her son’s friends. She was also a very spiritual woman who read her bible faithfully. She most enjoyed reading about the wisdom of King Solomon and the lessons contained in Proverbs. Helen regularly prayed for others and she would often pass on precious advice to those she loved. She is survived by her four sons: Anthony “Jogi” (Penny) Singh, Sham (Timika) Singh, Malkeet Singh, and Manjeet (Katie) Singh. She also leaves to cherish her memory seven grandchildren: Terrance Acevedo, Elijah Singh, Autumn Singh, Isaiah Singh, Devin Miller-Singh, Nina Singh and Josiah Singh, great grandchildren Leilani Rose Singh & Jordyn Sole Singh plus a host of family and friends. Visitation for Helen will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at Union Congregational Church at 176 Cooper Avenue in Montclair, NJ followed by a funeral service at 11AM. Interment to follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Upper Montclair.
