Obituary of Gregory Smith

Gregory Charles Smith, 77, of Montclair, N.J. passed away on August 25, 2019.

Born in Kearny N.J., the son of the late Charles Smith and Frances Rainey Brown, he lived in Montclair for over 60 years.

Greg graduated from Tusculum College and served in the army in Viet Nam.  He has been president of Smith Carriers since 1988.

Married for 49 years, Greg was the beloved husband of Pamela Thorn Smith, brother-in-law of Rodger and Augusta Thorn, Carmine and Deborah Mango and loving uncle to Rodger Jr., William and Ronald Thorn and Nicholas Mango.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park St., Montclair on Tuesday, September 3, from 4-8PM.  A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 4 at 11:30AM.  Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Montclair Ambulance Unit, 95 Walnut St., would be appreciated.
