Obituary of John Daniel Dwyer

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With deepest sorrow, we announce that John Daniel Dwyer, V, 12 years young, of Montclair, NJ passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2019 surrounded by his family. John was born June 29, 2006 in Chicago, IL, the son of John Daniel Dwyer, IV and Sarah Jane (Sussman) Dwyer, and brother to Jayne Louise Dwyer.

John attended Buzz Aldrin Middle School and was a member of St. Cassian Church. John was also a member of Boy Scout Troop 13. He played soccer for several years with Montclair United Soccer Club and most recently played for KC Academy. John also played rugby for several years with Montclair Blues Youth Rugby Club.

John loved many and was loved by many more. His beautiful smile and energetic spirit were contagious to those in his presence. John loved skateboarding, skiing, scuba diving and camping. John lived his life to the fullest, fearlessly ready to embrace and enjoy new experiences. He also had a passion for sneakers and fashion and was a budding entrepreneur. Of all his interests, John most loved spending time with friends and family. Some of John’s favorite places were his family’s home in Stony Lake, NY and Akumal, Mexico.

It may have been John’s love of sweets that made him such a sweet boy. He was compassionate and generous and always cared for those around him. He had a fondness for animals and younger children. Our lives are ever changed by the nearly 13 years we were blessed to have with John and we will forever hold a special place in our hearts for him.

John is survived by his paternal grandparents, John D. and Joan Dwyer, III, his maternal grandparents, Douglas and Louise Sussman, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and many close friends.
