Obituary of Joseph Andrew Wilson

Joseph A. Wilson, age 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Joe was born on September 17, 1957, in New Haven, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his parents Agnes Elsie (Wildermuth) Wilson and James Marvyn Wilson. Joe grew up in Fort Lee, NJ, and lived for many years in Montclair, NJ. He will be remembered as someone who could excel at whatever he wanted to do. He was a master carpenter and cabinet maker, a fantastic chef and could make anything grow in his yard or in the many containers on his porch. Joe had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. His sense of humor and clever thoughts will be greatly missed. He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife Heather and 5 siblings, Susan (Stewart Schmehl) Wilson, Jim (Kitten Meyers) Wilson, Jeff (Larry Allen) Wilson, Elizabeth (Robert) Sofia, and Phoebe Wilson. He had 7 nephews and 1 niece as well as 2 great nephews. All will miss a very special Uncle Joe. “A Celebration of the Life of Joe” will be held in the near future and the family wishes that memorial donations be made to Samaritan Colony, 136 Samaritan Drive, Rockingham, NC.
