Obituary of Alice Deisler

Alice Fleming Deisler, age 95, went home to God on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. She was born in 1921 to mother, Agnes Gannon Fleming and father, Timothy J. Fleming. Their only daughter, Alice boasted about her “terrific and amazing older brothers” who pre-deceased her including Dr. Joseph A. Fleming, Captain Timothy C. Fleming, Thomas X. Fleming and Msgr. Edward J. Fleming. A proud graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Alice received her baccalaureate degree from Seton Hall University. She was married to the late William A. Deisler, CPA for 56 years; this was a marriage truly made in heaven. Alice and Bill loved their Montclair home and the wonderful neighbors they knew so well. They enjoyed frequent trips to the Poconos where they made many friends and sharpened their skiing skills and golf games. Alice was a life-long resident of Montclair, and she was often kidded by her friends as they called her “Miss Montclair.” She enjoyed this banter thoroughly. As a devotee of quality primary education, Alice retired from teaching second grade in the Dunellen School System in 1978. She loved her “cherubs”, and they loved her. Alice was a bright, shining light in this world and was known for her special brand of humor and caring ways. She will be missed by all who knew her including many nieces and nephews. Most especially, she will be forever in the heart of her niece and primary caregiver, Carol Fleming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
