Obituary of Nadia Nadir Stolt
Nadia Nadir Stolt, of Montclair, New Jersey, died on April 30th, 2016. She is survived by her husband, John, their son, Arian, parents Abas Nadir and Hamida Jalili, brother Nadir and sister Marina, step sisters Leila Christine, Ariana, and Alina, step brother Ali, and her beloved dog Sancho (aka Buster).
Nadia immigrated to the United States from Kabul, Afghanistan in 1977 and became a citizen in 1987. She held an MA in Spanish Literature and BAs in French/Spanish/Secondary Education. She worked as a high school French and Spanish teacher in Geneseo, NY and later in Queens, in sales at Saks Fifth Avenue NYC, and finally, before returning home to Montclair due to illness, as an interpreter/translator for US troops in Afghanistan. Nadia was fluent in five languages.
Full of an energy fueled by her love of life, family, and friends, Nadia especially loved to travel, in order to learn about and experience other countries, peoples, and cultures.
She is deeply missed, and loved.
