Bobby was one of those people who made Montclair the kind of place we wanted to live in. From the time my son was just starting out in baseball, he provided guidance and advice, always in a warm and encouraging way, with that all important dash of humor. He will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to Bobby's family.

Fondly remember the Lennon family from around the Immaculate Conception playground in the summertime. Had numerous interactions over the years with Bob at his Murph's Sport Shop and always ended up engaging in friendly conversation.
Bob will be missed !!!

My whole family was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Bobby's passing. We have been regulars at Murphs since our now high school baseball player played t-ball. We were always in the store for uniform fittings or gifts and I need only mention a fellow teammate of my sons' and he'd know just who I meant and the perfect gift. He was truly a part of what makes Montclair such a special place to live. Kind, generous, thoughtful and a great storyteller are a few words that come to mind to describe him. He will be sorely missed and Montclair won't be the same without him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.
With Sympathy,
The Sacks Family

To Bob's family,
Our son was one of countless children who benefited from Bob's caring approach to outfitting the travel and high school athletes in town. He sized up our son's first glove, catcher's mitt, and multiple travel uniforms but most of all he took interest and pleasure in our son's athletic progress. You could tell he was a coach even though we didn't know it until now.
He will be remembered and missed and we are sorry for your loss.

I am so very saddened and so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I have run into his shop looking for gifts, for floor hockey balls and swim team bathing suits a hundred times. Bob has always given me the best advice and help possible and always had a smile for me. What a loss for our community. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during his difficult time. God bless you Sir. May God welcome you home and may your favorite teams win every single day in heaven. Today and forever more xoxo

Dear Mike, Mary, Jessie, Joe and Lennon family,
We were so sad to hear of Bobby's passing. We were all fond of him -- spent so many hours hanging out with him at Greg and Joey's baseball games. He was a wonderful man who seemed completely devoted to his family, particularly his nephews and nieces. Every time we saw him, he would ask about the boys and we would chat about family news. He was a very special man in all of our lives. Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your dear Bob.
With sympathy,
Kathleen, Bill, Greg and Matt Kay
