Dear John, we may be miles apart but we are thinking of you all at this very sad time. I never had the privilege of meeting Anne, but I know she was a very kind and special person. The kindness which you all showed to Zoe last year when she came to America, not knowing anyone, and the hospitality which you and Anne gave to her we will never forget .
My mum and dad enjoyed having dinner with both of you in Scotland earlier this year and will not forget that special time, and send their prayers to you at this time.
From all of us in Scotland and Zoe in San Francisco we are all thinking of you, and the family, and will keep you in our prayers.
Ruth,Colin,Zoe, Kira, Oswin, Martha, David and Yvonne

My sincere condolences to the family. Words are never enough to take away the pain; but we can find comfort in God's promises to soon bring our loved ones back to life again, remove all suffering and death forever- Acts 24:15 and Revelation 21:3-5. Since it is impossible for God to lie we can rest assured that his promises will come true- Numbers 23:19. May God provide the family with strength and inner peace as you all reflect on his promises and cherish wonderful memories of Anne. Anne was a member of the book discussion group that I lead, and I always looked forward to her insightful, sometimes acerbic comments! I enjoyed so much having her in the group. She came to one meeting in September, and I could see that she was very ill. We talked briefly and she told me she probably would not be back. I hugged her and wished her well. I will miss her.

I met Anne at the Adult School book group and I treasured her contributions and her presence. I always enjoyed her company and her insights. She will be greatly missed. When I saw her a few months ago, I realized that she was ill and was glad that she had pushed herself for one outing that clearly meant a great deal to her.
I hope that you are comforted a bit by knowing that she had a deep and important impact on even slight acquaintances like me.
My sincere condolences on your loss.

We were shocked and saddened to read Anne's obituary in yesterday's Montclair Times. We are so sorry for your loss. She was such a lively and fun person filled with goodwill and humor. I will always remember the wonderful wedding of Clare and David that we were honored to attend. She turned the backyard into a wonderland and put on one of the nicest weddings ever.
Please accept our most sincere condolences and extend our love to your entire family.
Love,
Nina and Howard
