Obituary of Christine L. Arena

Christine L. Arena (née Feiler) passed away on April 30, 2015, at the age of 41. Born on April 4, 1974, she was raised in Upper Montclair and later returned there to live and raise her own family. Christine attended St. Cassian School in Upper Montclair, and Loyola School in Manhattan, where she met her future husband, Gianfranco. A recipient of the prestigious Clare Booth Luce Scholarship, she graduated from Georgetown University in 1996 with a degree in Chemistry (Magna Cum Laude). In 1999, she earned a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law where she served as Notes & Articles Editor of Fordham Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She worked as an attorney in New York City for 15 years, first as an Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, and later as Assistant General Counsel at Time Warner Inc. She served as the President of the St. Cassian School Foundation, helping lead fundraising efforts for the school that both she and her children attended. She was a parishioner of St. Cassian Roman Catholic Church. Christine is survived by her husband of 15 years, Gianfranco, and their four children: Eleanor, Gianluca, Nicholas and Lillian. She is also survived by her mother, Louise Feiler; her brothers: Michael, Thomas and Stephen Feiler; and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, William Feiler.
