Such a great loss not only to you, his beloved family, but to all of his so many friends and admirers. We will all greatly miss him. Take great pride in the many wonderful things he "quietly" did for so many people, myself included. What a truly wonderful man!

Betsy and I extend our sincere sympathy to the Durkin family. I feel privileged to have known Tom and to occasionally observe his wry humor, brilliant thinking and penetrating intellect. His children beat witness to his humanity and character. Paul Sullivan Briny Breezes, Florida

We are deeply saddened to learn of Tom’s passing. We dearly remember how he and the Durkin family always attended funerals, in a true Irish tradition, of our family. We always enjoyed the company of Chauncey and all the Durkin’s. We will arrange a Mass to be said in Tom’s name. We will pass-on the message to Fr. Vin. I’m sure Tom will be remembered in his prayers. Uncle Oscar and Peggy Youngberg garf@embarqmail.com

My deepest sympathy at this time of loss. Our life's history is filled with beginnings, with unfoldings, and with closures. It is difficult to lose someone who has been part of your life for so long - a life well lived. May his spirit rest in calm and his memory in serenity.

As an alum '69 of St. Benedict's, I offer my condolences to the Durkin Family. Believe it or not, I learned about love of family and an appreciation of ancestral heritage watching the Durkin's from afar. I hope this great Essex County family moves quickly through its grief and begins to smile when they think of Thomas. Frank Cherichello & Family

My deepest condolences go out to the wonderful Durkin family. Thomas Edward Durkin was the patriarch of an amazing dynamic family - filled with leaders who will continue to share his wisdom. Though it is a sad time for you, rest assured his legacy lives on, and he will always be remembered not only for the good deeds and work he did but also for you, his future generations, who will continue this important work.
