Obituary of Janet Lenney

Janet Gaw Lenney was born in 1914 in Newark, NJ and grew up in East Orange. She was a graduate of East Orange High School and the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ. She earned a Master's degree in Education from Seton Hall University. Mrs. Lenney taught in Newark Schools for 30 years; two years at Sacred Heart School, Vailsburg and the balance of her career teaching Kindergarten at Speedway Avenue School and Lincoln School from which she retired. Mrs. Lenney was a member of St. Vincent's Hospital Auxiliary, Montclair and a volunteer at St. Vincent's Nursing Home for 30 years. She is survived by her son Thomas E. Lenney and his wife Diane; grandson Thomas M. Lenney and his wife Lindsay and their twins Tristan and Addison and nephews William P. Gaw and his wife Jo Anne and T. Kevin Gaw and his wife Cynthia.
