Obituary of Edward Giblin

Former Montclair Chief of Police, Edward A. Giblin On Tuesday, November 5th, Edward A. Giblin of Caldwell was welcomed into eternal life by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joan Audrey Giblin. The funeral will be conducted from the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, NJ on Friday, November 8 at 9:00 a.m., thence to Immaculate Conception Church for the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting will be on Thursday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Born and raised in Montclair Ed was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and a US Army veteran. He proudly served his hometown as a policeman for 41 years. He was also employed for many years by the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home. Predeceased by his wife Joan and infant daughter Mary Elizabeth, Edward is survived by his children Deacon Edward (Patricia) Giblin, MaryAnne (John) Wojtal, Patricia (John) Herrmann, and Elizabeth (Patrick) Hyland. He was cherished Pop to Molly, Erin, and Eddie Giblin; Bridget, Mara and Monica Wojtal; Christopher (Denielle), Micaela, and Katharine Herrmann; Kerry, Brian, Meredith and Tara Hyland. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter Audrey Grace and brother-in-law Joseph A. Furfey.
