Obituary of Ruth Bedell

Ruth Hyland Bedell, formally of East Orange and Spring Lake, passed away peacefully at the Job Haines Home in Bloomfield on Sunday, September 8. Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband, William G. Bedell. In her younger years she was a realtor. She enjoyed playing golf at Glen Ridge Country Club and Fair Way Mews, bridge, the library and a good party. She volunteered for many years with the Saint Vincent Auxiliary in Montclair, even serving as president. She would never tell her age. In recent years, she was very proud of her 98 years, 10 months and 8 days. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Bedell Buikema and her husband, Bryon of Verona: her son, William H. Bedell of Humble,Texas: her granddaughter, Sara Harper of Baton Rouge : her grandson, James Hopp and his wife Stephanie of Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Verona Public Library, 17 Gould Street, Verona, NJ, 07044 would be appreciated.
