Lucille Elizabeth Bullock nee Bond formerly of Montclair, N.J. died peacefully at her home in Monroe Twp. NJ. after a long illness on Wednesday August 8, 2012, she was 99 years old. Visitation will be Friday August 10, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, NJ. The Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 11, at the Immaculate Conception church, 30 No. Fullerton St. Montclair, N.J. The interment will follow the service immediately after at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair A long time resident of Montclair, Lucille spent her childhood years in Jamaica, West Indies where she attended the prestigious Wollmer's Academy. Further studies were completed here in the US. An excellent professional seamstress whose clients stretched from the US to abroad. Lucille could always be found in her sewing room till the wee hours of the morning. She was a financially savvy lady, and always had a strong interest in politics, business, and current events. She so enjoyed her numerous crossword & sedoka puzzles, her ladies bridge club, and was an avid tennis player who thrilled us all when she played with her friend & tennis pro Althea Gibson. Most of all she loved to bake and cook her special meals for the family. Lucille was very active in the Literacy Program, where she tutored youngsters and won many awards, she was honored for her many achievements. She was also volunteer of the year at Intrastate Medical Freehold, NJ. After 35 years she retired as an auditing supervisor of the Internal Revenue Service in Newark, NJ. She was also a long standing member of the Rosary Society of Immaculate Conception Montclair, NJ, where she was an active member until moving to Millstone Township in 1998. She was the beloved wife of the late William M. Bullock, devoted mother of the late Shirley Y. Bullock, and loving mother of Marilyn Keemer and son in law Brian Keemer. Lucille was the daughter of the late Harry and Marion Bond of Jamaica, West Indies, sister of the late Harry Bond,Marion Crampton, and Muriel Robinson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. She will always be in our hearts and we will always love her.
