Obituary of Robert Dempsey

Mr. Robert "Bob" Francis Dempsey, 89, died April 20, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Mr. Dempsey was born in Bronx, New York and moved to Vero Beach in 1983 from Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He also resided in Montclair, NJ for many years. He graduated from Power Memorial High School Class of 1941 in New York. Mr. Dempsey retired as Assignment Bureau Supervisor from New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. after 41 years of service and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy on the USS Neuendorf "De 200". He was a memberof St. Helen Catholic Church in Vera Beach, the VFW Post 6255 in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, and Knghts of Columbus Council 1277. He was a Past President and Life Member of the Vero Beach Telephone Pioneers. Survivors include his cousins Grace Myers of Montrose, Pennsylvania, Cindy Cantone of Montrose, Pennsylvania, Paul Hitchcock of Montrose, Pennsylvania,a and Frank Hanrahan of Cary, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Dempsey on March 4, 2006.
