Obituary of H. Beyfuss

Please share a memory of H. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Len Beyfuss (H. Leonhart Beyfuss) of Montclair, NJ, passed away suddenly on April 12, 2012 at Mountainside Hospital. He had successfully fought lung cancer and true to his character worked throughout his treatment while bravely keeping up his good humor and positive outlook. Len was born to Evelyn and Andrew Beyfuss of Westfield, NJ. Len's idol was his grandfather, Harry Beyfuss, after whom he was named. He was a graduate of Wagner College, earning his M.B.A. in 1967. He pursued a career in investment banking, working on Wall Street for a quarter century. After retiring from Wall Street he worked in various capacities in the automotive industry, following his lifelong passion for cars. Len is survived by his loving wife, Lynne Beyfuss (Walker) and they celebrated their Twenty-Fourth wedding anniversary just two days before his passing. Len and Lynne were inseparable companions in all things. They enjoyed taking ocean cruises and were planning a special voyage for their coming silver anniversary. People who knew and loved Len remember him as a genuinely kind and wonderful person. He enjoyed books, speeding through the NYT Sunday crossword puzzle, golf, model trains, and was a lifelong dog-lover though after he married Lynne he developed a love of cats. He had a passion for music and dabbled with guitar playing. Len especially liked spending time at his son Michael's garage in Liberty Corner, NJ. In addition to his wife Lynne, Len is survived by his sons, Andrew Beyfuss of Hillsborough, NJ; Michael Beyfuss (Andrea) of Green Brook, NJ and their daughters Victoria, Kristina, and Alexsandra. His step-children, Geoff Messer of Sedona, AZ and his sons Dylan and Cody; Nicholas Messer of Nevada City, CA and his son Owen; Diana Messer-Kruse (Tim) of Toledo, OH, and their sons Griffin, Emmett, and Connor. Memorials in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
