Obituary of Joan Giblin

On December 13, 2011, Joan Audrey Giblin entered into eternal rest at Mountainside Hospital surrounded by her loving family. The funeral will be conducted from the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park St., Montclair on Saturday, December 17 at 9 am, thence to Immaculate Conception Church for the Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Born in Bloomfield, NJ, Joan was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair. She resided in Upper Montclair, where she raised her family, before moving to Caldwell several years ago. A homemaker, she retired as a secretary from Plumbers Union Local #24. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 60 years, Edward A. Giblin, her children Edward Giblin (Patricia), MaryAnne Wojtal (John), Patricia Herrmann (John), and Elizabeth Hyland (Patrick). She was predeceased by infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth. She was cherished Granny to Molly, Erin and Eddie Giblin, Bridget, Mara and Monica Wojtal, Christopher, Micaela and Katharine Herrmann, Kerry, Brian, Meredith, and Tara Hyland. Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph A. and James D. Furfey.
