Dorothy R. Walters of Linden, 85, mother of three.
Dorothy Rose Walters, 85, passed away on June 1, 2011 after a brief illness. She is survived by her three children: the Very Rev. Michael M. (Mitch) Walters, of South Orange; Mr. Mark M. Walters, of Linden; and Miss Karin K. Walters, of Linden.
Dorothy was born in Jersey City and moved to Roselle after high school. She married George S. Butchko of Linden and resided in Linden for the rest of her life. After George's death in 1959, she married Raymond J. Walters who died in 1998.
She was a parishioner of St. John the Apostle Church in Linden, a member of the Rosary Society, the Boy Scout Mother's Club, and the Sun and Fun Club at various times. She was also a member of the Linden Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
She enjoyed travel, especially with her children. She was an avid knitter, knitting lap robes which were given to the Telephone Pioneers of America for the elderly. She was also an avid reader and a great fan of British comedies on television.
Visitation will be at St. John the Apostle Church, Stiles Street and Valley Road, Linden, on Monday at 5:15 followed by a funeral mass at 7:30. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad 875 Raritan Road Clark, NJ 07066 in her memory.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Lynch, her brother, Joseph (Bud) Lynch and her sister, Marguerite (Peggy) Lynch
