Obituary of John Streiter

Streiter, John C. , a life-long resident of Montclair, NJ died on January 8, 2011 in Mountainside Hospital. John was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Elna, who passed in 1991. He is survived by his son, John E. Streiter of Montclair. John served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-1946 in the Southwest Pacific where he received several combat medals. He worked for Borden Milk, retiring after 20 years of service. After retirement he worked for the Montclair Township as a school crossing guard for almost another 20 years. Visiting will be held at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, NJ on Wednesday from 4-8pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 10:15am on Thursday with interment to follow at the Cherryville Cemetery in Cherryville, NJ.
