August 16, 1925 - May 6, 2011 Barbara T. Keller, 85, passed away peacefully on May 6th joining her beloved husband of 60 years, C. Lawrence Keller. Originally from South Orange, Barbara was a longtime resident of Short Hills and Londonderry, VT. Barbara graduated from Miss Beard's School and in 1945 from Bennett Junior College before working at J. Walter Thompson until her marriage in 1949. In 1977 Barbara graduated with honors from Union County Technical School in occupation therapy. She began her career in health care at The Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation catalyzing her interest in alternative healing. She studied Therapeutic Touch at the NYU College of Nursing and advocated the contemporary healing modality as a practitioner and teacher for 30 years. Barbara was a dedicated humanitarian who supported numerous causes. Most notably, she served the Cheshire Home in Florham Park, a residence for the disabled, on the Board of Trustees for nine years and as Co-Chairman for three years. She was a board member of Canterbury Village in West Orange and an early supporter the Interweave Center for Holistic Living in Summit. Barbara was a life-long member of the Theosophical Society and a longtime member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church serving as Jr. Warden, teacher, member of the Alter Guild and member of the Outreach Committee. Barbara will be remembered as a caring and selfless champion of her friends and family and many sought her council. A freethinker, she embraced the mysteries of the world with an open heart. She will be greatly missed. An avid sportswoman, Barbara was a member of The Short Hills Club, Baltusrol Golf Club, Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, VT, Sankaty Head Golf Club in Nantucket, MA, and Tuscarora Club in Margaretville, NY. Barbara is survived by four children; Cord, Jim (Elissa), Linny Andlinger (Rick) and Nick (Marnie) and four grandchildren; Nick Andlinger, Emily, Franny and Everett. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Church in Millburn at 11:00am on May 26. A burial service will be held at the Landgrove Communicty Church in Landgrove, VT at 11:00am on May 28 with a reception to follow.
