Obituary of Robert A Sobers

Robert A. Sobers, Sr., passed away on Thursday the 2nd of March, 2017, at Morristown Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 64. Bob was raised in Montclair by Thomas J. Sobers, Sr. and Barbara Sobers and lived by the beach with his wife of 40 years, Marilyn, in Indialantic, Florida. In 1979, Bob joined the Montclair police department, where he touched the lives of many people. He retired as a captain after 25 years of honorable service. Bob loved his family and friends, the beach, and muscle cars. He will be missed greatly. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sobers; two children, Robert A. Sobers, Jr. (Melissa) and Meghan Sobers Tilli (Anthony); four grandchildren and seven siblings. Donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
