Maria Daria Lomaga ​Maria Daria Lomaga, of Bloomfield, NJ (formerly of West Palm Beach, FL) passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Born in Lviv, Ukraine, on December 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Julian Lomaga and Iryna (Lun) Lomaga. ​A memorial service in honor of Maria’s life will be held at the Glen Ridge Congregational Church, 195 Ridgewood Avenue, Glen Ridge, NJ on November 25, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. ​During WWII, Maria acted as an interpreter, worked for the International Refugee Organization in Munich, and as a resettlement officer for the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee, Inc. Maria immigrated to the United States from the Ukraine after WWII and settled in New Jersey with her mother and two brothers. She became a United States citizen on July 28, 1959. Maria had a long and distinguished career in hospital finance and administration, beginning at Mountainside Hospital as Assistant Comptroller and thereafter at various hospitals in Pennsylvania and Florida, until she retired in her early-80s and relocated from Florida back to Bloomfield, NJ. A loving aunt and grand-aunt, Maria will be dearly missed by her family. ​Maria was predeceased by her younger brothers, Miroslaw J. Lomaga and George P. Lomaga. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews: Christine Lehman and her husband Gregory, Helen Krieger and her husband Kevin, Walter Lomaga, Iryna Lomaga Carey and her husband Michael and Daria Maria Curtis and her husband Michael. She also leaves behind numerous grand-nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. ​In lieu of flowers, Maria’s family requests donations to Fr. Hudson House (Center for Hope – Hospice and Palliative Care), 111 DeHart Place Elizabeth, NJ 07202, a haven where Maria received loving care.
