Edward “Ned” Tierney Navy Veteran, Tavern Owner Edward J; “Ned” Tierney, 81, a lifelong resident of Montclair on October 18, 2016/ Edward was the beloved husband of the Late Gertrude Brennan Tierney; the devoted father of William, Mary Ellen and her husband David Onofrio. Catherine. Edward R. (Buddy). James, John and Michael. He will be remembered as the loving grandfather to Sarah, Daniel, Grace, Jack, Alissa, Michael, Dylan, Sandra, Ryan and Sean. Ned is also survived by his sister Norinne and her husband Dennis FitzSimons and many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Montclair High School, he attended Farliegh Dickinson College and Seton Hall University, He was proud to serve his country in the United States Navy. Ned was a parishioner of Saint Cassian Church. Supporter of the Knights of Columbus, the Acient Order of Hibernians, and Baseball Incorporated. On of Ned’s well known characteristics was his sense of humor. He was proud of his Irish heritage and he loved listening to Irish music on WFUV. Some of the things Ned enjoyed were going for a drive, sitting on his porch, and reading the newspaper. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
